Director of the Luxembourg Employment Agency (ADEM)
After having obtained her Master 2 degree in Law from the University of Rennes in France, Isabelle Schlesser started her career in Brussels and in Luxembourg in the field of European law. In 1999, she joined Luxinnovation, the National Agency for Innovation and Research in Luxembourg. She was in charge of the development of services for start-up companies and was appointed Secretary General of Luxinnovation in 2007. In September 2012 she joined the Luxembourg Public Employment Service (Agence pour le développement de l’emploi, ADEM) as Deputy Director. She was appointed Director of ADEM 5 months later in March 2013 and has worked since that date to reform and modernize ADEM in order to respond to the needs of both jobseekers and employers.
Isabelle Schlesser has been a member of the Luxembourg State Council (Conseil d’Etat) since 2016. She is also a board member of the Luxembourg National Research Fund and the National Railway Company.
