Mrs. Evita Simsone was appointed the director of the State Employment Agency of Latvia on 21 December 2016. Her professional experience in the field of the labour market dates back to 2005 as she was the Head of the Cēsis Branch office of the State Employment Agency of Latvia for more than ten years, untill being appointed the deputy director of the State Employment Agency on 4 January 2016.

Since November 2016 Mrs. Simsone has been a member of the board of the European network of Public Employment Services (PES) and was elected First Vice Chair of the PES Network in 2017.

Mrs. Simsone obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology and has had further training on internal audit and control. Her interest has always been devoted to the motivation of staff in order to achieve higher performance goals and to improve the services provided to clients.
